Thalapathy MK Stalin met the residents of Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar, as part of Namakku Naame journey

After his successful completion of Namakku Naame tour in 232 constituencies of Tamil Nadu, Thalapathy MK Stalin visited the Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar constituency. Thalapathy MK Stalin was happy to visit the last but one of the 234 constituencies in the state. In fact, residents of Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar could see the excitement in his statement, “This is the 233rd constituency I have visited during this fulfilling and enlightening journey.” During his interaction with the Arunthathiyar community, Thalapathy MK Stalin did not forget to remind them of the inclusive nature of the DMK philosophy and how it reflects in the party’s policies. He also reminded them about the 3% reservation provided by Kalaignar to the Arunthathiyar community. Thalapathy MK Stalin said, “The Arunthathiyar Welfare Board was formed during the DMK period, and Rs. 22 crores was allotted to it. DMK is committed to ending manual scavenging. Kalaignar allotted Rs 3.97 Crores to Chennai Corporation to buy equipment so that manual scavenging can be eliminated. The ADMK government has completely ignored the welfare of the Arunthathiyar community since it came to power. DMK believes in equality and will create inclusive growth and development for all sections when it comes to power.

Thalapathy MK Stalin thanks the people of Tamil Nadu for their support through Namakku Naame

The Namakku Naame-Vidiyal Meetpu Payanam ended with Thalapathy MK Stalin visiting Tnagar, the 234th constituency in the state. Not only the people of Chennai but also the people in entire Tamil Nadu know that Tnagar is a thriving business center. It was the DMK regime that built ten flyovers in the city to ease the traffic congestion. Although the current Chennai Mayor announced that the corporation will be constructing 30 flyovers, nothing realized. Fooling the people has been the trend of ADMK right from day one. For instance, Jayalalitha announced numerous projects and schemes under Rule 110 and all of them are only in paper until now.

Thalapathy MK Stalin regretted that the otherwise inactive ADMK government was very active in halting all the welfare measures initiated by the DMK government. Bribery has gone beyond limits even to the extent of ruining the lives of honest officials. Only the DMK government can redeem the people of Tamil Nadu from the clutches of such social evils. Thalapathy MK Stalin said, “After this journey through 234 constituencies I sought the blessings of Thalaivar Kalaignar. I would like to thank the people of Tamil Nadu for their support through Namakku Naame. We will together build a new dawn for Tamil Nadu.”

DMK government will resurrect SMEs and solve issues related to temple lands

Thalapathy MK Stalin met the residents of Ambattur as a part of the Namakku Naame journey and interacted with them. The residents of Ambattur temple lands grieved at the efforts of the ADMK government to evict them. Thalapathy MK Stalin acknowledged that he was aware of the issues faced by the people residing in temple lands in the various districts of Tamil Nadu. Thalapathy MK Stalin said the forthcoming DMK government would certainly resolve these issues.

Thalapathy MK Stalin later had a meeting with the owners and workers of SMEs in Saidapet. They were worried about their future as over ten thousand people in the area have lost their jobs due to the recent floods in Chennai. Unfortunately, many of those who incurred heavy losses due to the deluge have not received the compensation from the government. Lack of documentation is cited as the major reason for it. Thalapathy MK Stalin reminisced how the Tamil Nadu SME investment Corporation and businesses flourished four decades ago when the DMK government under Thalaivar Kalaignar patronized SMEs. Thalapathy MK Stalin said that the forthcoming DMK government would extend full support to the SMEs.

Thalapathy MK Stalin assures the people that 2016 will usher a new dawn

Thalapathy MK Stalin met the fishermen community in Thiruvottiyur constituency, as a part of the Namakku Naame journey. The fishermen grieved about the state of 104 fishermen in Sri Lankan prisons and 66 boats captured by the Sri Lankan navy. They also cursed the ADMK for not keeping its manifesto promise of providing 3,000 liters of subsidized petrol to motorized craft. On the other hand, they hailed the DMK for supporting them by forming a separate welfare board for fishermen. Although the DMK government had allocated sufficient funds to renovate the Chennai fishing harbor during its tenure, the ADMK government neither bothered to enhance work environment nor protect the lives and properties of fishermen.

Thalapathy MK Stalin then proceeded to Mylapore and revered the place for its secular character. Mylapore houses holy enshrines for Hindus, Christians, and Muslims. Sadly, Mylapore was also among one of the many recent flood-affected areas. People had to pay exorbitant prices for essential commodities such as milk and drinking water. The agony lasted over two weeks, yet the ADMK government officials did not bother to address their concerns. Residents of Santhome, Foreshore Estate, Alwarpet, Ice House, and Mandeveli too had to undergo similar circumstances. Thalapathy MK Stalin said, “Even though I travelled to 218 constituencies during ‘Namakku Naame’, the DMK party cadre never troubled public by placing advertising hoardings and banners along the road side. On top of being a public nuisance, the ADMK Government misuses their authority; three people who were trying to remove these ‘Amma hoardings’ were arrested by the police. This type of governance needs to change and this government needs to learn a lesson. I have assured the people that 2016 will usher a new dawn.”

Once DMK is in power, Thalaivar Kalaignar will reinstitute your positions and jobs – Thalapathy MK Stalin

As a continuation of the Namakku Naame campaign, Thalapathy MK Stalin interacted with the “Makkal Nala Panizhalargal.” It was Thalaivar Kalaignar who employed 13,500 welfare workers on 2.8.1989 for the benefit of the people of Tamil Nadu. Unfortunately, these workers were the target of the ADMK whenever it assumed office. Apart from depriving Makkal Nala Panizhalargal of their jobs, the betrayal of the ADMK government also cost the 226 precious lives of these welfare workers. Amidst severe protests and the court verdict in favor of them, no mercy was shown to them all these while. Thalapathy MK Stalin lamented about the unrealistic promises made the political parties to mystify the people into voting for their parties.

Thalapathy MK Stalin said, “Election manifestos need to be realistic and achievable. During the last election, the DMK election manifesto was strong enough to be the “election hero” but trusting the fancy words and impossible promises of Ms. Jayalalitha and her party, people voted her in. Unfortunately, Tamil Nadu has borne the brunt of that, by witnessing an inactive and inefficient government where no solid schemes were implemented in the last five years.” Thalapathy MK Stalin also asked the Makkal Nala Panizhalargal to remain patient for a couple of months. He said that as soon as DMK forms the government, Thalaivar Kalaignar would reinstitute their positions and jobs.
